  • Customized logic: The customized logic interface function is provided to the inverter body. This enables forming of logic circuit and arithmetic circuit to the digital and analog input and output signals, allowing simple relay sequence to be built while processing the signals freely
  • Standard 2PID control: The 2PID control is featured as standard. One PID module is used to control the output frequency of the inverter, and the other three PIDs can be used to control the external system. To utilize all of two PIDs, the optional card (OPC-AIO) needs to be mounted.
  • Fire mode (forced operation): This mode ignores (retry) the inverter protection function to continue the operation. In that way, the inverter keeps operating the fan and pump as much as fire.
  • Pick-up operation function: The pick-up operation function enables smooth starts. If you wish to run a fan currently not run by the inverter and in idle mode, this function searches the speed regardless of the direction of rotation and pick up the motion smoothly. This function allows for smooth operation such as when switching the power supply from the commercial power to inverter in a momentary action.

Save Alarm Data 
  • The number of alarm data to be stored has been increased from the conventional model. Thanks to the real-time clock function built-in as standard, the complete data of the latest and last 3 alarm occurences is stored: time, speed command, torque, current and others. This enables machine units to be checked for abnormalities.
  • As for previous model, new alarm data overwrote and deleted existing alarm data. This is solved with the new VG model.

Alarm Severity Selection:
  • Alarm severity (serious and minor) can be selected, eliminating the risk of critical facility stoppage due to a minor fault.

PG Fault Diagnosis:
  • The PG interface circuit incorporated as standard detects disconnection of the power supply line as well as the PG signal line.
  • A mode was added that judges if it is a PG fault or a fault on the inverter side Simulated output mode is provided at the PG pulse output terminal (FA and FB). Operation can be checked by connecting this to the PG input terminal. 

Easy Change of the Cooling Fan:
  • Unit Type: The cooling fan can easily be changed without removing the front cover and printed board.
  • Stack Type: The cooling fan installed at the top can easily be changed without drawing the stacks. However, for the 220kW or above inverter, remove the 2 connection bars from the DC side and change the cooling fan.

Functions Suitable for HVAC Use:
  • Linearization function: This function estimates the target pressure using the load flow rate, which allows the estimated terminal pressure to be controlled. For an air-conditioning heat source system, the needed quantity of the cooling or heating water fluctuates generally in seasons or days and nights. Therefore, operations continuing in a water conveyance pressure constant control may lead to high operating unnecessary pressures on terminals at low operating state. Thus, the pump consumes an ineffectual electric power for maintaining the high water conveyance pressure. Based on the calculated value and water conveyance pressure of estimated terminal pressure using the detected load flow rate, PID control is performed. It is possible to reduce the ineffectual pump power consumption and to achieve a great energy-saving effect together with maintaining comfortable current air conditioning.
  • Wet-bulb temperature presumption control: This function is optimal for controlling the fan of cooling tower. Since the wet-bulb temperature would become higher than the set temperature when the air temperature is particularly high, water temperature will not reach the set temperature. Therefore, the fan keeps rotating at high speed, failing in energy-saving operation. FRENIC-HVAC automatically estimates the wet-bulb temperature and controls the fan so that the cooling water is interlocked with the air temperature in order not to use unnecessary electric power.
  • Filter clogging prevention function: This function detects clogging of the fan filter with dust or other materials using the output current and pressure sensor value. When clogging is detected, the fan is rotated in reverse to eject dust, and then resumes rotation in forward to blow air. In addition, the function notifies you of maintenance necessity with the alarm signal.
  • Customized Logic: The customized logic interface function is provided to the inverter body. This enables forming of logic circuit and arithmetic circuit to the digital and analog input and output signals, allowing simple relay sequence to be built while processing the signals freely.
  • Standard 4PID control: The 4PID control is featured as standard. One PID module is used to control the output frequency of the inverter, and the other three PIDs can be used to control the external system. To utilize all of four PIDs, the optional card (OPC-AIO) needs to be mounted.

Optimal Function for Usage in Water Treatment:
  • Cascade control: The cascade control is the function that controls the multiple pumps by one inverter. The pumps are controlled with combination of inverter drive and commercial drive. This can be applied in a large-scale water treatment plant. In cascade control, the signals of flow rate and pressure sensors are controlled by the PID regulator that is built in the inverter. Each pump is driven either by the inverter or commercially according to the switching signal from the inverter. The pumps are controlled only by the inverter when the discharge volume is small, and adding to the inverter drive, they are controlled using commercial drive by adding them one by one as the discharge volume gets larger in order to ensure the required discharge volume in total. There are two following methods in control: inverter drive motor fixed method and inverter drive motor fixed method.

Inverter drive motor fixed method (Fixed):
  • The system is configured by combining the motor driven by the inverter (M0), motors that are commercially driven (M1 to M8) and auxiliary motor (MA). The motor driven by the inverter is always fixed as motor M0. Motors commercially driven are added one by one in control when the required discharge flow rate cannot be achieved with the motor M0 only.

Inverter drive motor floating method (Floating):
  • The system for this method is configured by combining the motors that can be switched between inverter drive and commercial drive (M1 to M4) and auxiliary motor that are commercially driven (MA). The motors are driven by the inverter with variable speed control at start. When the desired discharge flow rate cannot be achieved with the first motor, operations Floating-1 or FLOATING-2 can be selected.
